Micah's Goodbye

Micah Manor seems to have everything going for him. He’s the star quarterback, poised to receive a football scholarship. He has an abundance of friends, and from the outside, he appears to be happy. Sometimes, appearances are deceiving. All Micah really wants is acceptance that he fears he can never have. Micah has a secret, a secret he’s been trying to hide for so long he has reached his breaking point.
Matthew Manor is the pastor of one of the largest churches in the area. He tries to be a leader, as well as a role model for his son. While he tries to be kind and compassionate to everyone, he has not made it a secret that he disagrees with homosexuality in general.
Jake Bradley has been Micah’s best friend since kindergarten. As they grew up, their close friendship had turned into more. The relationship that he has with Jake is one that Micah has gone to great lengths to hide from his parents, as he feels that this relationship would cause them to turn their backs on him completely. Despite how close they are, Jake is unaware of the massive amount of torment that has been churning in Micah’s mind.
Micah’s feelings culminate in a suicide attempt that leaves him barely clinging to life. Those who love him can do nothing but wait and hope he recovers. Even in the uncertainty of his survival, Micah has caused a shift in the world around him as those closest to him must overcome their own obstacles, try to understand all of the things he was trying to hide, and come to terms with who he really is.
Micah’s Goodbye is a story of trust and growth that illustrates the true healing power of loving acceptance, even when the wounds run all the way to the core.

The Sun Always Rises

Construction workers make a grisly and unexpected discovery when a body buried for over fifty years is unearthed at their construction site in a small Mississippi town that never sees any violent crime. Detective Timothy Rowles has little hope of finding any answers about the person’s death so long after it occurred, but he releases the police sketch of what the young man may have looked like to the news and begins his investigation. Everything about the case seems hopeless, but for one man over two thousand miles away, the discovery answers a lifetime of questions.
Sam Price found his soul mate when he was eighteen years old. Jack was everything Sam wanted, and all that he thought he could never have. A love like theirs was forbidden and had to remain hidden. The only person who knew about their relationship was Sam’s childhood best friend, Eleanor. Eleanor had never made Sam feel that he was wrong for who he was, though she had long since known his secret, and she did everything she could to give their love room to blossom in a small southern town in 1962.
Sam and Jack, along with Eleanor, had plans to get out of their small town and move to California, where they hoped to be more accepted for who they were. Their plans never came to fruition, because on the night they were to leave, Jack failed to show up. For five decades Sam lived with the question of why, only to find the answer in a brief national news story with a birds-eye view of a construction site and a police rendering based on skeletal remains. Now, with the help of a young detective, Sam must find the final pieces to a 50-year-old puzzle.
The Sun Always Rises is the story of young love, and how one young man's life and death changed countless lives around him. It is a story of everything love can give, and all that hate can take away.
